Checklist

An iterative WIP. See also Living#Tents




  • Camping gear
    • tent and pegs
    • plastic mallet
    • in a large rucksack or suitcase with wheels


  • Sleeping
    • two sleeping bags, larger inside smaller (though neither too small)
    • inflatable pillow but large enough. foam pillow + camping pillow case?
    • folding roll-mat with reflective lining, or self-inflating roll mat of some sort
    • rug for on-top for cold nights, or use pajamas, or leggings for sleeping
  • Bedside kit
    • good eye mask
    • sleeping ear plugs / active noise cancellation earbuds
    • glasses case
    • sunglasses/clip-ons
  • Wash kit bag
    • toothbrush, toothbrush case
    • toothpaste (mini tester tubes from dentist receptions?)
    • soap in some capsule?
    • toilet roll in waterproof bag!
    • face cloth for showering and shaving
    • towel (microfiber is lighter and faster drying)
    • sun cream (30/50 spf)
    • moisturiser for face and hands
    • midge spray / skin-so-soft
    • safety razor with case, blades, lather with moisturiser+water
    • germaline / savlon
    • a few fabric plasters
    • backup hair bands
    • mirror
    • tweezers
    • nail clippers + non-metal nail file
    • hand wipes - or tat them after. dried out wipes can be wetted
  • Clothes etc.
    • store each type of clothing in separate bags
    • lay them all out in the tent if there is space enough, so as to not lose track
    • pants and socks (thin and thick) for every second day working away, plus some more
    • clothes for all weathers
      • shorts+skirts
      • waterproof trousers (for rain and/or 'ming' work)
      • light rain jacket or poncho
    • caps and/or visors (small and big) for sun
    • warm hat for night time, especially when trying to sleep
    • cloak? natural fibers is better
    • wellington boots, or work/rigger boots
    • extra pairs of bags for in-shoes/boots in case it rains
  • Misc kit bag
    • perfume
    • saw knife for fire wood
    • medical bag
    • small condiment bag
    • medication and supplements
    • handkerchief packets in a baggie
    • spodger for Heras fencing
    • piss bottle - empty 2L milk bottle, or orange juice bottle
  • Techie stuff bag
    • USB rechargable AAA batteries in baggies/container if needed
    • 20000mAh+ power block USB battery x2 (one for tent lighting)
    • USB charger with fast PD/etc charging
    • LED ropes/strips/lamps for bedside + tent
    • two rechargable USB batteries, one dedicated to lighting
    • super small USB hub, to connect multiple light ropes to the battery
  • Accessory belt things
    • belt with water bottle holder - a bare minimum
    • belt pouches/bags
    • lighter / pipe/vape pocket
    • LED headtorch(s)
    • earplugs/ANC buds
    • larger pocket(s) for A6/7 notepad and pens
    • robust walkie-talkie case
    • tool holder/bag?
    • something to carry sun protection
    • quality midge mask?

    • metal cup, with carabiner handle
